Friends in High Places is an album by American country music artist George Jones. This album was released in 1991 on Epic Records. This would be Jones' final album with Epic Records. The album contained duets that were mostly recorded in 1988 and 1991...the one with Emmylou Harris, for example, was recorded in 1984. Lack of publicity caused this 1991 album to slip by un-noticed...most of these duets were later placed on the mammoth duet project, the re-release of his 1979 My Very Special Guests album. The title of this 1991 project was no doubt inspired by the Garth Brooks hit single of that time period, "Friends in Low Places."
